How much is my junk car actually worth in BC?

The honest answer: it depends. But here's what actually moves the number when we quote a scrap vehicle in the Lower Mainland.

Weight is the biggest single factor. Scrap metal is priced by the tonne, so a full-size pickup or SUV is worth substantially more than a compact car — even if they're both non-running.

Year and make matter for parts value. A 2010 Toyota with a rebuildable engine, transmission, or catalytic converter is worth more than a 1998 sedan with the cat already cut out.

What's missing hurts. Missing wheels, missing catalytic converter, stripped interior — each of those drops the payout because we can't recover the parts.
